Martin Posey

The State vs. the Dead Body of Matilda H. Posey

one of my negroes had told him that Appling a negro man of mine, had Killed my wife, and buried her near the Spring. My negro Franklin, told me, that Appling said to him he had buried her near the Spring, This information led to the discovery of the body. I have owned the negro Appling about 12 months. I have Known him for several years. His general character is bad. I know of no ill feeling between the negro Appling and my wife.
