B H Glanton said he shot the boy Lewis unintentionally saying he shot at the boy twice at the first time he shot strait up and the second time when he shot he thought the boy was between 150 and 200 yds distance

first shot was fired to scar him which had no affect and he fired the second shot with intention of scearing him an he was not aware the Boy was shot

he then ask him what provocation the boy had given him he said he had neglected the duty he told him to attend to that he called the boy and told him come to him and intended to give him a few stripes at the time the boy was siting on the fence said to him I cant come Mr Glanton about that time his attention was called of frome the boy when he turned to look for him again he was running across the field ... he had a pistol ... having no idea it would touch him
