Rachel Folwer, the nurse, eleven years old, was sworn deposes and says that she lives at Mr D A Glenns, in house with Charley Adair, that Jane Young is her mother, Charley Adair & her mother Jane Young, lives together, not married, that last Friday about dinner time she took a large hammer off of a shelf out side of the door, and struck Willie Metts two licks with it, in his temple. Willie was in Charley Adairs house lying in the floor on his back when she gave the blows, she then picked him up, held him in her lap a little bit, and strick him, then took him out of doors, put his head through a split which was tied to a ladder, the ladder was lent against the house. Jane Young tied the split to the ladder, and told her then to hit him with the hammer, then take him and put his head through the split... Charley Adair & Jane Young both told me if I did not knock him in the head and hang him that they would kill her...
