FW Woodward Sworn Says On yesterday the 21st of June I saw the body lying about three hundred yds from the deport of Rockton on the cow horn road the body was recently killed. My attention was called by the report of a gun and by the report that a man was killed. the wound was a gun shot wound in the right temple the gun was a shot gun. Witness says that he does not know who done the Killing. He believes the mans actions on the morning of the 21st was the cause of his death. When I heard the report of the gun that killed this man it was about 4 Oclock P.M. Witness says he saw a good many men about the Deport more than usual. The deceased name was Andrew Caldwell (a colored man) Says he thinks there was thirty five or forty men in the crowd and that they got away very quickly after the Killing.
