Mr. CW Sems . . . James Johnson made a free & Voluntary Statement as to how he killed Tobe Woods. He -- said that Cuffee Williams and Willa Johnson did not have any thing to do with the killing of Tobe Wood Car with Cuffee Wood at New Ingram Hotel about 9:30 pm on May 16th -- John Wood & Cuffee Williams being on the front Seat & he in the back seat. . . They drove by John and across the Branch above the colored Swimming Pool & turned to the right at a by road & stopped the car took John Woods Pocket book out of his vest Pocket then they reached over John Wood body & opened the Right Door of the car & Tobe Woods body sled out partly on the Running board & that he caught him by his leg & shoved him out of the Car. Then he back out of the By road & drove back by the White & Colored Swimming pool . . .parked the car and went back home. . . after seeing the blood on the front seat & thinking about the license too was afraid the law would call ahead. . . He decided that he would leave the car & go back home. He told where he had this money & pistol. We found the money where he said he had hid it in his own pocket book at his Father Home -- there were five five dollar bills & four one dollar bills in this pocket book. But the gun was missing -- We found the Gun later at his Brother en law house. . .
