Mrs. Isabelle Brown, being sworn, says: I went to Cheraw yesterday, with my husband Alex Brown. When I came back Dave Jackson was drunk as fighting and fussing. We could not do a thing with him; sent for the officers but could not get any. We took a rope and tied him . . . until he got sober. He got up this morning and went away. The next I heard of him he was out at Bill Gulledges. There he was fussing and beading one another Bill Dave and Robt all were fussing. Robt Brock, Bill Gulledge and Dave Jackson come to my house. Robt Brock picked up some bricks so he came with his [???] and said "Skipper, come out here I'll cut you Good damn head off." I did not let Skipper go. Robt Brock with his knife open and bricks in his hand said "I'll come and cut your God damn head off any how." As he came Alex Brown shot at Robt Brock. Did not hit him. Dave Jackson and Bill Gulledge ran to Johnson's house. Will Johnson had a gun single barrel shot. Johnson asked Skipper Brown "what made him shot." Skipper said he wanted to scar Robt Brock and make him leave. Then Johnson pulled up and shot Alex Brown in the head. Alex Brown then pulled up and shot Will Johnson when Johnson broke to run. He ran about 25 feet and fell. Robt Brock and Carl Johnson picked him up and took him home. Dave Jackson got Will Johnson's gun and took it in Johnson's house. Robt Brock, Dave Jackson, and Bill Gulledge were all drunk. Willi Johnson I think was too. Skipper Brown was not drunk. John Henry Brown saw the whole thing.
