Mr. Williams husband of Deceased being Sworn says: I went to bed with my wife as usual on last Monday night the 28th June inst. About half past two oclock that night my wife got up to answer a call of nature and I went to pull the cover up on when my pistol fell from under my pillow to the floor. Think it struck the floor and went off and she said "I am shot." I said "is you." She jumped into the bed and caught old of me. It was dark. I struck some matches and that she was shot. I then called for help from Sylvia brought a lamp and we fund it near the head of the bed on the floor pointed from her as though it had turned round when fired. I did not notice whether the floor was blackened or not. . . .
