Anna Campbell sworn says . . . Came to Henrietta Blakeneys house to spend the night. . . Had my now deceased child also with me. John Campbell was one week over two months old. Deceased was sick with cold. Cough when I arrived here. When he coughed it looked like something in its throat that would coke him. Walked are the way from Bennettsville except four miles. Do not know how late it was when I retired last night. Deceased when alive then but went to sleep before I did. . . Decease slept between us. I awoke up in the night and felt for deceased and found nothing more than usual the matter with deceased. He coughed as usual. . . When I awoke next time it was day this morning. When I awoke I took up deceased and found milk running out of its mouth. He was not able to breath. Did not think it was dead then. Did not think it was dead until then. Ma Blakeney told me so. Put my hand opposite his heard and the found it was not beating and concluded he must be dead. I am mother of deceased.
