Joe a slave belonging to Wade Holston sayeth that on the morning 3 inst I saw Mr Willis I were then hauling rails from Mr Asbells[?] place little more than a mile from here MR. Willis reproved me for not being with my wagon I told him I was making a road for the wagon and was obliged to leave my oxen some words pass between us Mr. Willis told me to hush up which I did not do he then advance towards me threating me with a stick which he had in his hand I started of from him and Mr Willis then got on his horse and rode back with and intention I suppose to Whip me when I came to the house I did not see anything more of Mr. Willis I no of no threats made against Mr Willis
