J. Q. Little sworn says that early this morning before he got up Willis Chapman came to his house and said Gabe Wilkins was dead or dying at Jack Fernand's house. witness went & found him lying just out side of Fernand's door. examined him & found that he was dead but still warm & limber. observed a bruise on his forehead. knows nothing further. Dr. G. N. Mendenhall sworn says examined the body of Dec'd at request of Foreman. externally could find only slight abrasion on his forehead. there was evidence of his having vomited which was slightly tinged with blood & also that he had defecated which was of a loose character. that the external examination does not show what caused his death.

Grimage Blain sworn says taht decased & witness boarded & stayed at Jack Fernand's every night. last night him & dec'd were there. deceased was very drunk as his custom was to drink every night after work about 1 or 2 oclock last nigth Fernand's wife (Emma F.) waked wit. up & told him to get up and look after Gabe. he is drunk & puking in the house.
