Andrew Brannon states that he was at the plantation of Zachariah Bowing about six or seven weeks ago, shilling corn in Zachariah Bowing's cornhouse and heard a woman scream greatly, and after a few moments he seen Mrs. Elizabeth Bowing and Priscilla Robertson coming towards the cornhouse where deponent was. Said Elizabeth Bowing began complaining how she had been abused by the strumpet Priscilla Robertson, or words to that effect, and turned about and returned to her house. Priscilla Robertson then came to the cornhouse where deponent was and states that Mrs. Bowing had struck her, and that she Priscilla had dashed the said Elizabeth down to the floor and slaped [sic] her but with her hand. Deponent further states that the affray that he heard took place in or near the dwelling of Mrs. Elizabeth Bowing and not at or hear the dwelling of Priscilla Robertson. He further states that Mrs. Bo[w]ing's face was bleeding, and it was stated that her cap had been torn off.

John Bo[w]ing after being sworn saith on his oath that soon after Priscilla Robertson had beat his mother, he seen her and asked her what made her beat his mother and she replied "that she (his mother) had struck her, and if she done it again, she would whip her, and that him nor his Brother Isaac should not prevent it if they were over her with swords." He further saith that his mother after complained of a soreness in her side, occasioned by the beating, until the time of her death, which he thinks was about four weeks. This lad was in a very low state of health when he made this the above statement; perhaps when he recovers he will be able to give a more full account.
