Saw the dec/d about 8 oclock last night. He came over to the depot. He was playing with me. He seemed cheerful. We went up to a bar room and he took two drinks. I tried to get him to go to bed and he refused saying that when he went to sleep again he would never wake up. He did not make his appearance this morning and had him hunted was told that he was dead and went to him with my Father & W[?] H Walker and took the things out of his pockets. He had a bottle in his pocket marked Morphine it had not been opened. He was drunk when I saw him last
