P.C. Gailaird Sworn Sayes I am conductor on the C.N. & L When I came up from Columbia at the Junction 1 1/2 miles from Clinton I was turning my train. Just after my train started to Clinton, I saw something white on the track. I thought was a piece of Paper, When I saw it was a man I pulled the bell rope and hollered to stop. I went to him found him mangled by the train... I asked him his name he said Wade Adair... A Double barrled shot Gun was lying by his side And a bottle of Whiskey was in his pocket - he had the appearance of a drunk man.
