Negro man Joshua has bin complaining for a month or six weeks with a pain in his left side told me at times his head would swim and he would have fits when he was in that condision he was up walking about on Sunday he he had not worked any in some two or three weeks except one day when he did work he would some times he would chop up the corn and cotton I did whip him but not sevear which whiping was for chopping up the corn and cotton when at work The negro said he was deranged at times and was not aware what he was doing some times he was deranged I come to the conclusion I would not make him work any more
