Sam Kennedy Sworn Says I was in Mr Hays field this morning about 8 Oclock just as I got the end of row I saw a smoke at Bill Goings house over on Mr Rutlands place I asked the woman Linda Goings if she left any fire in her house. She said yes and ran out a piece and said it was her house. I taken my mule from the plow and ran there as fast as I could when I got there the house was on fire on the inside. I tried to get in but it was too hot. I heard one of the children crying a little after I got to the house. The house fell in a few minutes after I got there, there were several men got to the house just after I got there I knew there was three children in the house, and would have savid them if I could have done it.
