Transcription: 

Mrs H G Wise who being duly sworn deposes and says Is the wife of deceased, was absent from house last night and spent the night away from house As witness was coming home This morning The 1st day of January AD 1885 when about one hundred yards from house saw the body of deceased lying dead in the road.
