[2nd witness] Henry Harrison sworn says I live on the Fleming place I was there at mill this morning I saw a colored girl in the mill, I knew it was Gist Williams child. I heard the miller tell her to go off. After a little time I heard hollering up stairs, Mr. Compton stopped the mill and went up stairs I went up. I found this girl wound round an iron shaft by her clothes she was dead, her head was broke, her brains scattered all round on the floor; I cut her clothes so as to get her loose from the shaft.
