Gracy Marshall mother of dead child who being duly sworn says that on the night of the 13 of Aug. 1897, I bathed the child Pauline & put clean clothes on her & put her to sleep about 7 oclock, I left Jenny Pace and Diminidie [?] Marshal, went to church and returned before 12 oclcock on returning, Mother Marshal first entered the room and found child dead. I put a sheet over the child when I left it.
