I left her between two and three. Have often been in the habit of leaving them this way. The neighbor's children in sight - have been watching the children of mine, but they were away to-day. Lottle Cook called me that Ella had caught fire and was burnt to death. I had told her not to let the fire go out. It was her habit to keep up the fire. She was dead when I saw her.
