Haney Oglesby of Fairfield County in the sais state a witness on behalf of the State of South Carolina being duly sworn and examined according to law before me HJFW Coleman Trial Justice acting as Coroner for said County holding an inquest over the dead body of Sam Clark of said county in said State at the residence of Sam Clark in said County on the fifteenth day of February A.D. 1888 Deposes and says that when she approached the said Sam Clark he lying face formost with his head in the fire dead she made an effort to take him out of the fire but was unable to do so, she then returned to the house for help.
