Ben Johnson Sworn Says as I was going up town this morning the 1st day of Feb 1887 as I passed Jenkins Store near where Emmanuel Thomas lived. Cumbo Lyles asked him to go to the privy and see if Emmanuel was dead witness went and looked in the door and saw that he was dead. Cumbo told Witness that deceased had been there about two hours witness knows the deceased. Never heard any threats of violence against deceased life.
