Oliver Sloan, Sworn says the he lives near Martin Buyd, and that on Fryday [sic] night 21 Nov 1884 he was called to Martins house went over and found the little girl, Louisa Byrd dead, lying in the bed, examined her found that she was very limber but entirely dead, this was on my place in Fairfield County S.C. [2nd witness] Dr. F.J. Smith Sworn Says I made Post mortem examination of the dead body of Louisa Byrd after disinternment, am satisfied that she came to her death from congestion of the lungs, this examination was made on the 23d of Nov 1884.
