That on last night (June 27th A.D. 1880) at about midnight she awoke hearing some one calling loudly for Neel, then she heard her name called, that she jumped up, that she know that it was James Hall Calling, She ran to his house as quick as she could. When she got there James Hall had her (Matilda Hall) leaning in his arms. She, deceased, sitting on the floor. James Hall told her his wife was dead, She did not appear to breathe after she (Witness) got there. That[?] she then ran and awoke Neel who is James Hall's Son. Witness Says deceased had told her that she had heart disease on last week and that it would some day carry her off. does not konw what caused her death unless from said heart disease. James Hall who being duly Sworn deposed and said that on last night (27th day of June) at about Eleven oclock the deceased retired to bed apparently as well as usual in about a half hour after retiring she awoke, exclaiming "help me up, help me up," - Witness helped her up, she seemed to be suffering intensely from oppression in the breast, her breath very short and quick. Calling for a fan; in about ten (10) minutes she expired. That she did not tell him what was the matter. he Witness Called for help but no one got there before she died. Witness Says she had not been complaining during the day, Witness further Says that the deceased had been for several years Subject to heart disease, had had Several severe attacks, and had been treated for Same.
