[Doctor confirms cause of death as accidental smothering] Rifie[?] Davis Mother of the Child here dead that she went to bed as usual last night that the Child was well and hearty at that time, that she nursed it about 2 Oclock, went to sleep with it at the Breast, when Quarly[?] Davis woked me up about sunrise found my Child believes I smothered it. Eugenia[?] Williams, being sworn says that she washed & dressed the dead Child Abby Davis that it warm and limber, with perspiration about its Head and face, that she saw no signs of bruises or marks of violence about it at all
