[another testimony confirms this one] I upon hearing Sam and Joe fail to arouse the boy Robert I called him very loud myself to which there was no reply I ordered Sam to shake him upon seeing this did not wake him I went in and found him lifeless. his pulse may have vibrated three or four times, by this time his father had got to him and after feeling & rubbing him for Several minutes we both pronounced him dead; I found him lying upon the pile of Cotton his head seemed to have been in a hole whether his head was resting on the floor I did not examine, his feet was covered up in the cotton as was his body.
