Statement of R.H. Hollis who being duly sworn says. That early on the morning of March the 16 1898, I heard that there was a dead body down the Rail Road, I went down, and was the first white person upon the spot. J.L. Parker soon come up and he and myself made a thorough examination of the remnant of the body and its Effect. We found absolutely nothing but... a paper (Telegraph blanks) and a good portion scattered, around. This paper was, the larger portion, found on or close to the rail, and was torn into severall fragments which we carefully gathered and turned over to Deport Agent. This paper was writeen on, and was found near the vest of the dead body.
