Ist Witness, Joe Wilson, Duly sworn testified, as follows. . . I saw Earnestine Rewie and she called me to her house. I went across to her hose as I got in front of her house she asked me where I had been, and I told her, she said I had been over to Viola Shields. We went in the house (Earnestine), she asked me if I had had supper, and I ask what she had, and she said she had some meat, and I told her meat was too tough, and she said she had some eggs, and I asked her to fix me some. She staggered over to the wood stove. . . Earnestine went into the middle room, and staggered back into the kitchen. She made a dash toward me, and I pushed her off. I reacjed down beside the door and get an ax, and told her not to come on me, and she said I wouldn't hurt you. We went into the middle room, and she stepped down over the sewing machine, and struck a match and set fire to her dress. I asked her what she was trying to do, kill her self, and she said that is all right. We put it out, and she went on in kitchen, and came back to the front room, and when she came out her dress was a fire, and she ran into the middle room and jumped in the bed, and I called for help. . . I had been drinking with Earnestine that afternoon, but I do not know where she had been drinking any that evening or not. I had been living with her for about four years, as man and wife, and ww had trouble every ti time she started drinking. We had some kerosene in the kitchen. . .
