Clyde Mango -- Witness: Mr. Moore & I came to building fire and brought Coca cola & found the building full of smoke. Joe Church & B. Vick in cell. . . though Church was dead at first so I carried him up & went back for Vick. Sam them in my place for business before they were locked up. They acted like they had been drinking. This was around 7:00 or 8:00
Earnest Moore. Witness: On Sat. night . . . Vick & Church were locked up. I came back & forth to see about them. noticed the light on in hall. At 12:00 came to re-fuel the stove and bring coca cola's but Mango was busy. Waited awhile and noticed light in hall was out. Went to door & Mango ask for handkerchief. Tied around face and went in cell. Mango said fire was in chuck's cell. Vick was dead when we hauled him out. Fire was in Church cell. This was about 1:00. Told Mr. Church a few minutes before he was locked u to go home that he was getting too high -- Mr. Vick was lying on right side with arm up. Church was on floor. Both beds & all blankets were frantically burned up in Church's cell. Nothing burned in Vick's cell --
