J. R. Simms -- sworn -- . . . My wagon me got in front of Mrs. J. M. Arout's home -- they jumped off wagon to cross road . . . one was struck by truck. Mr. Kirkley was driving truck about 30 or 35 miles per hour. [???] to stop when he struck child Brother were good on truck. No one in truck with him. . . some school children were close. Kirkley made every effort to stop. Truck went about 15 ft. after sticking child -- ran off road to left trying to miss child . . .
