Dave Hildrith -- Jim Hildrith were my father I was at Mr. Phillips house Oct 13-35. Started home. Mr. Kemp Phillips started with me about 20 steps from his home pistol fired Otis Home -- [Torze?] Johnson & Roy Reid Cailisse [Magens?] Selbert Lowery (all colored men there to gether I don't know which one fired shot. Me asked which one fired Some said they didn't & some didn't pay any thing. Bill Hildrith came up. Colored Boy were Rims Store, Bernie Pig came up with Bill. Me & Bill & Mr. Pig went to yard my house as we went by John Covington house he said some one cursed in front of my house. He said he didn't know who it was. I told him we didn't want any cussing at my house. Joe Sinclair held me it was you you god dam S. B. I think I cursed him for a S. B. He hit me in said with a brick Crowd of negros there. -- Brick knocked me down, I saw pistol fire in my brother's face. Jim & Bernie Pig were behind me. I was at house & they brought Jim (my father) Jim didn't say who hit him. 1 pistol shot. I had a drink. Colored boys acted like they were drunk. I don't know who fired pistol. Happened just after dark. Jim took in house with me. Jim had started to yard.
