William Pitts worn Says -- That on Wednesday 21 of December 1870 his wife was cooking turnips for his hogs, near his dwelling house, and the deceased Hannah White about 5 years of age was near the fire. Witness says he was about 100 yards from deceased says he heard the deceased crying says he hurried to see what she was crying for and found deceased with all her clothes burnt off of her, don't Know how she caught fire. Says the deceased died about sun down the same day she was burnt. Don't think there was any person near the house where the fire was except -- deceased Brother, about 6 or 7 years old. Says he witness believes the burning was the cause of deceased death.
