James A. Blakney Sworn . . . was sitting by the coal kiln we had a small kiln . . . we were all setting under the shelter by the fire the fire was a little to one side of the shelter it cracked one time . . . we sit under the shelter a bout twenty minutes and it fell. Just before the shelter I had the basket over my head squatted down just before the shelter fell. I sit the basket behind me after setting the basket down I squatted down after the shelter fell. The basket helt the shelters up off of Tom and my self when the shelter fell down . . . then I went back around and janked the rest of the fire out the straw on the shelter had caught by this time after I done that I caught holt of his leg and tried to pull him out I told Tom to come and help me to pull him out he come . . .when we was pulling he was making some fuss under there we could not understand what he was saying. I think he was about dead at this time. . .
