James Cottege sworn says Allen Melton came to my house about two weeks ago and made my place his home ever since & appeared to be in good health on Thursday Jan 5th 1893 said Allen Melton done some work and that night ate a good meal & went to bed about 9 oclock he did not complain no alarm was given during the night of any trouble. I went to the bed about sun rise on the morning of Jan 6th 1893 & found said Allen Melton dead. No person had ever threatened him in any to my knowledge.
Dr R. P. Miller having been duly sworn says that it is his opinion that the said Allen Melton came to his death form natural causes _ in all probability from failure of the heart to perform its proper function.
