some time in November 1859 he heard two reports of fire arms and distinkly some one in the same direction at or near where the body was found called for help and said murder two or three times but did not no who fired or who called for healp as he though at the time it was some person trying to fool him

some time in February as he was walking Through the woods near where the body was found he pick up a hat very nearer barin[?] but did not see any thing of the body until the ninth of April 1860 when one of his field hands was passing through the woods for some purpose and found the body or a part of it when he returned with his knife an domes other of the Family when he found the remains as we found it to day
