John he still had life, but was fast sinking, spoke with him and saw that he was sensible of what had taken place, tried to converse with him, but he could not articulate, but from signs of the head and hands made himself understood in many things. Expressed no regret but said he killed his wife, had good cause, was glad and would do it again, that he had premeditated I, and had done what he aimed at, and was glad they had both gone together, seemed perfectly Reconciled and retained his mind apparently up to the last moment
