he then became alarmed & went down to the river & found three poles with hooks on standin in the bank & his Decsd hat was Lying by them [?] & others then Instigated[?] Search in the river for Decd but could not find at that time but went back to the river on the 18th Inst & made search and found him the Sd deceasd in the river. Wit thinks as Decsd was somewhat subject to fits that Probably he Decsd taken a Fit & Fallin into the river wit also says he has no Ideas that any Person had Pushed or Knocked Decsd into the river Wit further says he does not think any Person in the setelment owed Decsd any ill will whatever
