Alice Brownlee sworn says?I am the mother of Sallie Brownlee she is about 18 yrs old. She is not married. Some time back I accused her of being pregnant she acknowledged it. That was only a few weeks ago. She walked to Greenville CH some time since and has not been well since. On yesterday 26th she told me that on night before last she had had a child. She said she was in such pain that she went into the garden to get something to make some tea and sat down and could not get back until she had had the bild. There was some dittany in the garden. During the day yesterday she was sick and acknowledged to me that she had had a child and that it was dead born and buried in the garden. I did not go to try to find it. I told my husband and he went I did not want to see it.
