Mariah Owings, sworn, says she is the mother of the small child. . .it has no name on Friday evening last she left the child about 3 Oclock lying in the cradle with two Small Children in the house the child was well and hearty. . .came back to the house. . .found the Baby dead in the cradle with it face covered up with a cloth saw no sign of violence on the Body of child when she found the child was dead she went for Mrs Rason who at her House some 200 yds off said the Child had always been healthy and well the two small children did not say anything about the Baby being dead when she came in but when she asked the little 3 year old child about said the little boy got in the cradle on the baby.
